The Value of the Right Coach

I am a Black woman who went all-in on herself and full-time into business early on in the pandemic.  I don’t have a college education, formal business training, or an entrepreneurial background, but I am qualified by my life and expertise.

Regardless of where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, it’s important to realize that you will need guidance from those with experience or knowledge you don’t yet have as a part of your growth and expansion.

My journey began in the Virtual Assistance industry in 2016 by pivoting what I’ve done for now over four-plus decades in a corporate setting into a service that I could independently provide to my fellow entrepreneurs, companies, corporations, associations, organizations and other business entities.

It was equally important to me to seek out a coach who understood the nuances of both my industry and my culture.  I was fortunate enough to find a Black woman who coached virtual assistants specifically, the number of which even in 2024 can still literally be counted on one hand.

There are MANY types of coaches for various aspects and types of businesses, and many things to consider in choosing the right-for-you coach.

Seek one when you are ready to receive instruction and put in the work.

Not before, and not until.

My coaches have provided me with an environment of mentorship and guidance to build and grow, identify and eliminate blind spots and provide insights that create room to expand both myself and my business, for which I am eternally blessed and grateful.

They have not given me cookie-cutter solutions or trendy tactics based on things over which I have no control (yes, I’m looking DIRECTLY at you, social media) because they understand that not all businesses, even within their industries, are created equal.

Tactics and trends come and go…

but foundations and strategies

stay eternal.

They both create chaos and missed opportunities.

Having what I call a responsibility roster establishes a process owner with the right assets to be the best resource to arrive at the desired outcome.

​Regardless of the season of business you’re in, the foundations of a clear and solid business blueprint will provide the foundation for you to build your empire upon!
